Xylotil cures strep throat

She had strep throat for 1 week. Then she started taking 2 TB of powdered xylotil, holding it in back of throat and letting it dissolve. Instant pain relief...after 2 days it was all cured. She took it several times per day: right before eating, and in between meals.

Lavendar oil cures burn

A person got a burn from a hot stove, then put several drops of lavendar essential oil on her burn for a whole day several times, and the burn healed within one day

homeopathic burn relief

Burned myself with hot water (bad burn). Hurt, so I took a solution of the Hyland's homeopathic tissue salts Ferr Phos, Kali Mur, and Kali Sulph (10 tabs each in 1/4 cup water) and put it right on the burn. Also took same (4 tabs each) orally 4 times/day. Really worked!

Blood pressure

Boiron homeopathic arnica trauma (pellets) - 6c

For pains and bruises, sprains.

Recovery from surgery: bone growth

I recommend food (bone broths, kefir, yogurt), and also I'd suggest:

  1. Calc. phos 6X tissue salt--good both for bone formation and also recovery from any sort of surgery. 4 tablets 4 times per day.
  2. Calc. fluor. tissue salt is good for healing the surface of bone, too. Same dosage.
  3. Homeopathic Symphytum, 200C would be good to take for about a week--2-3 times a day.
  4. Make small figure-8 movements over the areas where the surgery/infury were. This engages the body's energies to heal and accelerates them. Do as often as you like. This really works, by the way, and is sedating/relaxing, too, if there is any pain.

Dental checkup dangers xray - how to protect yourself

Snopes.com says it's valid. Something we should all consider at that next appointment. Dr. Oz'swebsite includes the link for any of you who want to read more about it.http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/increase-thyroid-cancer

On Wednesday, Dr. Oz had a show on the fastest growing cancer in women, thyroid cancer. It was a very interesting program and he mentioned that the increase could possibly be related to the use of dental x-rays and mammograms. He demonstrated that on the apron the dentist puts on you for your dental x-rays there is a little flap that can be lifted up and wrapped around your neck. Many dentists don't bother to use it. Men should lift the flap too.

Also, there is something called a "thyroid guard" for use during mammograms. By coincidence, I had my yearly mammogram yesterday. I felt a little silly, but I asked about the guard and sure enough, the technician had one in a drawer. I asked why it wasn't routinely used. Answer: "I don't know. You have to ask for it." Well, if I hadn't seen the show, how would I have known to ask?

skin cancer cure

The Eggplant Cure for Skin Cancer
Everybody knows about skin cancer. It's the deadly cancer caused by too much sunshine without sunscreen ... right?
Actually, wrong.
Though dermatologists have been telling us for years to steer clear of the sun's UV rays or lather up with SPF 50, research now shows the bigger problem is we don't get enough sun exposure. Sunshine is the best way to absorb vitamin D, and vitamin D plays a major role in the prevention of skin cancer and many other health problems.
The misconception about the sun and skin cancer stems from confusion about what skin cancer is. What you need to know is there are three types of skin cancers: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Basal and squamous skin cancers are the most common, and are likely caused by the sun as well as genetics. In most cases, these cancers will not spread to other cells. Though dermatologists are wild to remove these growths, they can usually be left alone without turning into anything dangerous (I don't seek treatment for mine, just for the record). Get a yearly checkup to make sure yours aren't a problem — and be aware that your dermatologist WILL want to cut, so you have to take a firm stand. YES, you want to make sure it's just a basal cell carcinoma and (if you're like me) NO you don't want yours removed as long as it's not growing. And the truth is, you can remove them at home with over-the-counter creams and salves, as I'll explain in a moment. Continued below... The Invisible "TOXIC TRIGGER" for Cancer and Arthritis. . . . . .that no drug or supplement can stop! It doesn't matter how careful you are about your diet, lifestyle and supplements — you may still be racked with illness if your dental work harbors poisons and infections. On the other hand. . . Patients have tossed their wheelchairs, junked their medicines, reversed "hopeless" cancer -- and more -- just by getting rid of the secret poison in their mouths. It's an absolute, proven fact that mystery ailments like fatigue, diabetes, even blindness can disappear when you eliminate this hidden trigger for disease. But picking the right "biological dentist" is not easy. A lot of unqualified and half-qualified dentists are now claiming to be "mercury-free." They can do you a great deal of harm. The process of removing old fillings and root canals can release so much toxic material, you're better off leaving it alone than going to the wrong dentist. You need to know who are the top experts in the field and how to reach them. We can help. Now Cancer Defeated publishes a compact 55-page Special Report to give you all the resources you need to get rid of root canals, mercury amalgam fillings and cavitations. This report will put you on your way to healing cancer AND avoiding it. Click here and keep reading! It's the third type of cancer, melanoma, that's the scary one. Melanoma rapidly produces new cells and spreads to other organs in the body. In the U.S., melanoma results in about 7,000 deaths each year. But no evidence suggests melanoma is connected to the sun. It may be linked to frequent sunburns, but not to general sun exposure. Looking at the facts, melanoma on men usually occurs on the trunk of the body, and melanoma on women most often shows up on the legs. If it was really something instigated by the sun, it would make a lot more sense to see it on the face and arms. Why vitamin D and moderate sun exposure actually cut your risk of cancer With this information in mind, let me share with you why you probably need vitamin D to tackle melanoma. Recent research studies show that vitamin D can cut the risk of cancer in half. Individuals with higher levels of vitamin D are up to 80% less likely to get colon cancer. They also have lower blood pressure and face fewer cases of multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia. In the case of women, the risk of breast cancer is cut by a fifth. In a test tube study, vitamin D also suppressed the growth of melanoma and stopped it from metastasizing. One test tube study doesn't settle the matter, but I'm going to venture an opinion: a good source of D — the sun — helps prevent this form of cancer as well as the ones listed above. I'm NOT suggesting that you cultivate a deep tan and you definitely need to avoid burns. If nothing else, they age your skin. But moderate sun exposure is safe. What's moderate? That depends on your skin type, the time of year and the time of day. African-Americans and most Hispanics can safely handle much more sun exposure than a pale, redheaded Irishman. During December you can stay out in the sun far longer than in July. And even during July you can stay out much longer at 4 PM than at noon. The discovery of vitamin D's benefits is huge news. But, the reality is most Americans aren't getting enough of this wonder vitamin. Since we're told to wear sunscreen even on cloudy winter days, we deprive ourselves of the most effective source of D. Sunshine allows our skin to produce vitamin D, and just five minutes of sun exposure creates more vitamin D than you can get by taking several supplements. What's more, it's FREE, and I've always found that an endearing trait. Supplements are helpful and I recommend them, but the amount of D absorbed from them is pitiful in relation to the natural source of sun. The Secret Skin Cancer Treatment: Glycoalkaloids Now that we're clear that it's important to get a dose of sun in your daily routine, let me say another word about the more minor forms of skin cancer: basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. The sun may cause these, but the minimal risk is worth it in relation to the need for vitamin D. I've had a few basal skin carcinomas myself. It's very common and I know loads of other people have had these too. As I mentioned before, a dermatologist will remove them if you want. But if you want to avoid the cutting, stitches, and scar, there is an alternative: Curaderm-BEC5. Curaderm is a topical cream that can tackle basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, plus benign keratoses. It's been described as a highly successful treatment for all non-melanoma skin cancers, and cures without leaving a scar. The cream was developed in Australia by biochemist Dr. Bill Cham. A veterinarian friend of his noticed that a cow appeared to cure skin cancer around its eye by rubbing its face on a plant called the Devil's Apple weed. With years of research, Cham discovered glycoalkaloids in this plant work as a powerful healing agent for skin cancers. Cham was not the first to make use of glycoalkaloids for cancer treatment. Apparently, plants rich in glycoalkaloids were used to cure cancer back in the second century. Nonetheless, he pioneered modern studies of glycoalkaloids and their anticancer agents. Solasodine glycoalkaloid, also known as BEC, is the form of glycoalkaloid found in the Devil's Apple weed and the one Dr. Cham found most effective. You can also find it in smaller amounts in the eggplant. BEC works by latching on to cancer cell receptor sites and attacking lyposomes and mitchondria in the cancer cell. It ultimately kills the cancer and leaves healthy cells unaffected. Cancer cured ... with just a skin cream A National Institutes of Health (NIH) study in 1987 showed that Curaderm worked wonders on basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. The cream worked in 20 out of 24 basal cell cases, five out of six squamous cell cases, and all cases of keratoses. A 1991 follow-up study indicated all lesions were fully treated. According to an analysis of biopsies, the formula successfully removed lesions for at least three years after therapy. Reports showed "no adverse side effects on the liver, kidneys, or haematopoietic system" (the system that creates the formation of blood), nor any clinical effects. Another study showed that a patient using Curaderm saw her cancer ulcerate and slough off. The treatment left the cartilage on her nose exposed, but after 13 weeks, her nose was back to its original shape. A competing skin cream, SkinAnswer, was introduced as an alternative to Curaderm. In a study for this cream, patients with keratoses, basal cell carcinomas, and squamous cell carcinomas were treated. Twenty-seven out of 28 patients completely recovered in four to eight weeks, and biopsies verified the cancer had completely vanished. This study reported no serious or long-term side effects at all. Non-serious side effects were not mentioned. I'd like to see more information and more details about these research studies. Yet, I've read some impressive accounts — both from online reviews and my own subscribers — that the cream really does work on skin carcinomas. Can you cure non-melanoma skin cancer with a poultice of raw eggplant? I've seen reports online that it works, but I don't know of a protocol that's been tested in a clinical setting. So I don't know how much you need to apply and for how long. If anyone knows of a home, do-it-yourself eggplant protocol send it in — preferably one that's been tested by a naturpathic doctor or similar credentialed healer. Should you care if the FDA disapproves? As intriguing and powerful as glycoalkaloid-based treatments sound, the FDA banned these treatments in 2004. The department claimed there was not enough research or evidence to deem them safe. Plus, the FDA opposes anything based on self-diagnosis and self-treatment of cancer. I'm not too surprised that the FDA disapproved of the treatment. It's typical that they steer clear of natural remedies much more often than chemical remedies. On one hand, glycoalkaloids are actually a family of poisons, produced by plants to ward off insects. So there is potential for toxicity. But on the other hand, the NIH conducted studies that specifically used Curaderm (with .005% of glycoalkaloid), and found no fault to report. With or without the ban, Curaderm and SkinAnswer can still be purchased online. A search on Amazon brings up Curaderm, but there is no claim for cancer treatment in the write-up. The cream is merely described as a $115 "topical cream." Amazon also sells a book Dr. Cham wrote called The Eggplant Cancer Cure. My guess is the biochemist has found eggplant to be the more favorable plant for the cure than the lesser known, more potent BEC plant, Devil's Apple weed. You can also find SkinAnswer online, and it's now in the form of a beauty cream that claims to remove sunspots. I think these creams may be worth a try. But they should only be used once a dermatologist has verified the spots are not melanoma. The OTC remedies don't work for melanoma, I'm told. Cream or no cream, don't forget there's a huge difference between basal cell carcinoma and melanoma. Now, go out and get yourself a healthy dose of sunshine.

The dangers of medical tests and radiation

from: http://cancerdefeatednewsletter.com/11/042411.html
Some medical X-rays are unavoidable. But it's up to you to protect your own health — and to take an assessment of the total amount of radiation you're exposed to. Your doctors won't do it for you — you may even have multiple doctors acting independently of each other ordering identical tests. Expect your doctor to ridicule you for being concerned… be prepared. These tests emit too much radiation and should never be used for routine screening: Heart scans CT scans Whole-body scans PET scans Virtual colonoscopies The UC Berkeley Wellness Letter suggests asking these six questions before agreeing to medical imaging tests: What alternatives can I use that don't involve radiation — like ultrasound, MRI, or digital photographs (for dentistry)? More on dentistry dangers in a moment… Is the test really necessary? (Remember, doctors fear malpractice!) What difference will it make in my care, if the result of the test is positive? Is the facility accredited by the American College of Radiology? Will the test use the lowest level of radiation for adequate imaging — and will it be adjusted for my size, or my child's size? Will the scan be limited to the affected area? Will nearby areas be shielded? It's your body (or your child's) that will be affected by these tests. Be ready to put your foot down and say "no" to those who want to perform risky tests on you for the money or because over-testing is standard operating procedure. Don't let a doctor use the teenager's excuse that "everyone else is doing it."

First, because there is no clear evidence of current danger that I know of, we should do now only what is safe, inexpensive and otherwise healthy. This includes our Nourishing Traditions/GAPS diet, with liberal amounts of good fats, broth, lacto-fermented vegetables and greens. Special foods that have been shown to counteract radiation sickness include naturally fermented miso, beets, kombucha and sea vegetables, such as kombu. Fermented cod liver oil at the usual dose of ½ teaspoon or 2 capsules is best. Next, detoxifying baths with a cup of Epsom salts every couple days is an inexpensive aid to boosting magnesium levels, relaxing muscles, and aiding the elimination channels.

As for medicines, at this point I recommend the safest and most proven aids in radiation exposure, which are vitamin C in the form of the highly absorbable liposomal C; the herb eleutherococcus, otherwise known as Siberian ginseng; and a seaweed called modifilan, a brown seaweed that is rich in a chemical called fucoidan, which studies have shown has great promise in combating radiation exposure. This seaweed has liberal amounts of iodine, so the more toxic potassium iodine need not be taken at this point. The doses of these medicines are:

Liposomal C: 1 tsp a day in any liquid, half that dose for children younger than 5.

Eleutherococcus from Mediherb, Pure, Herb Pharm or other vendors: one tablet twice a day for adults, half that dose for children younger than 5. For children unable to swallow pills, the tablets can be dissolved in hot water and mixed with any liquid. For tinctures use as directed on labels and half dose for children.

Modifilan: 3 capsules twice a day for adults, one capsule twice a day for children younger than 5. It can be mixed with any soft food, like applesauce.

As for potassium iodine, this is a much more aggressive measure, and many people will have some trouble with the high doses that are suggested. But, if public health authorities say it's time, then it should be used - but only then, in my opinion. In that case, the dose is 130 mg of KI for adults and women who are breastfeeding, 65 mg for young people ages 3 and 18, children who are adult size take the adult dose, and infants and children between 1 month and 2 years should take 32 mg, newborns to infants 1 month old should take 16 mg. The best source is either from your local pharmacy or by ordering Iodoral online. If you need a prescription, you can call the front desk and we can call it in.

Heavy Metals

With the tragedy in Japan raising fears of radioactive contamination, there's been a massive run on potassium iodide. The experts are telling everyone that this combination will protect them from nuclear fallout. They're wrong! Potassium iodide is a good product. The potassium is supposed to protect you from the radioactive cesium. And the iodide protects against radioactive iodine. However, there are a couple problems with it.

First, there's not nearly enough potassium in this combination to protect you against the radioactive cesium. In the body, cesium acts like potassium. So having enough potassium in your body is supposed to prevent your body from absorbing the cesium. But most people are so deficient in potassium, that the small amount in potassium iodide won't protect you. You need to take a separate potassium supplement to protect yourself.

Read on: Second, you have to protect a lot more than your thyroid from radiation. Yes, the iodide in potassium iodide will protect your thyroid. However, it won't be as efficient at protecting your breasts and other organs. Here's why:

Iodide is a form of iodine. Iodine is essential for your thyroid and several other tissues and organs. Your thyroid needs it most. So, your body has a heavy concentration there. If you're deficient, as most Americans are, your thyroid will pick up any iodine your body ingests. This includes radioactive iodine, which can poison your thyroid.

On the other hand, if your thyroid is sufficient (full) of iodine, it will ignore any other iodine passing by — including radioactive iodine. Iodide and iodine serve slightly different roles in your body. They each protect different organs in different ways. So in the event of nuclear fallout, it's vital you protect your body with both nutrients. Potassium iodide doesn't provide iodine.

There are two products that provide ample amounts of both iodide and iodine. I've written a lot about Iodoral in past issues (available on my website). I think most people should take one capsule daily, just for general nutritional purposes. I do. After a few weeks, your thyroid should be sufficient in iodine and iodide, making your organs more resistant to radioactive iodine.

A good alternative is Lugol's solution, which is the liquid form of Iodoral. Two drops of this iodine/iodide product is equivalent to one Iodoral. If you know there's a significant risk of radioactive iodine exposure, you can double or triple the dose in the short run. Regardless of whether radiation from Japan's nuclear facilities comes this way or not, these are great products to take on a regular basis. Both are readily available on the Internet.

Finally, potassium iodide can't protect you against the radioactive heavy metals. Normally, chelation is the ideal way to deal with heavy metals. But there's a problem. Uranium atoms may be too large for conventional chelators to grab. So I recommend a totally natural supplement from decaying organic matter instead. It's my favorite for super heavy metals. This includes uranium, which is the heaviest naturally occurring metal. The product is Metal Magnet, which contains humic/fulvic acids. These are complex large organic molecules containing lots of carboxylic acid chemical groups. These attract metals like a giant catcher's mitt. All metals will fit in. And it is especially good at capturing toxic metals (see Second Opinion from June and July 2006). You can find Metal Magnet on the Internet.

Strontium 90, a radioactive mineral, is a more difficult issue. It is chemically similar to calcium and can wind up in your bones. Since EDTA can chelate calcium, it would make sense that it would also grab strontium. And studies suggest it does. For strontium 90, consider both oral and rectal EDTA, which may offer limited protection. If you are exposed to radiation, I'd go directly to intravenous EDTA under the care of a trained chelation doctor. I also recommend taking Chlorella regularly (take 15 tablets daily). It is an excellent metal detoxifier and all around superfood.

When Chernobyl melted down, researchers found that brown seaweed greatly reduced radiation poisoning. There are two products that offer brown seaweed, also known as alginate. The first is Modifilan (available on the Internet). The other is Pectasol Chelation Complex. Both products are rich in alginates. Another fantastic product I've used for years is Advanced Detox Formula. I use this formulation to help cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. The formula greatly reduces the amount of radiation your body absorbs. It also protects you with its sulfur-bearing detoxification nutrients, which also help regenerate glutathione. Be sure to take it along with supplemental vitamin C (2-8 grams daily) and vitamin E (1,200 IU daily) when exposed to radiation. My favorite vitamin E is Unique E, Carlson's E, and Delta-Fraction Tocotrienols (take one softgel, twice a day). You can order King Chlorella, Pectasol Chelation Complex, Advanced Detox Formula, and Delta-Fraction Tocotrienols from Advanced Bionutritionals.

Finally, there are certain foods that can protect you. Start by eating as many Living Foods as possible. Remember, plant chemicals protect plants from solar radiation. They can help protect you as well.

For general radiation exposure, whether nuclear, or even medical gamma ray exposure, you might be surprised to know that miso can protect you. I read years ago of a hospital right under ground zero in Japan, which survived the bombing. (Directly under the explosion, it was spared the destruction of the blast, which went out more than down.) The doctor walked out of the hospital, saw the total destruction, walked back in and told everyone to eat miso. Those who did were spared radiation sickness. Many studies have confirmed the protective effects of fermented soy!

With nuclear radiation, potassium iodide can help. But, as you can see, it's not nearly enough. (reprinted from naturpathic doctor newsletter).

Canker sores

Canker sores, also known as cold sores, are painful ulcerations that typically occur inside your mouth, inside your cheek, or sometimes even on your tongue. This is another common use for benzocaine-containing gels. However, if you're suffering from recurring cold sores, please understand that they are NOT caused by a viral infection, but rather due to an autoimmune problem. They're typically a reaction to either chocolate, citrus, or wheat, so avoiding these foods can help you end the problem once and for all. Keep in mind that cold sores are frequently mistaken for herpes sores, but using anti-herpes approaches for canker sores will simply not work. To learn more about the differences between the two, please see this

carpal tunnel

If your pain is acute, such as a cut or scrape, reach for an ice pack first. However, if you tend to suffer more chronic forms of pain, the following two supplements may help:
Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO): This oil, found in fish and dairy butter, acts as a "joint lubricant" and an anti-inflammatory. I have used this for myself to relieve ganglion cysts and a mild annoying carpal tunnel syndrome that pops up when I type too much on non-ergonomic keyboards. I used a topical preparation for this with really surprisingly good results.
Cayenne Cream: Also called capsaicin cream, this spice comes from dried hot peppers. It alleviates pain by depleting the body's supply of substance P, a chemical component of nerve cells that transmits pain signals to your brain.

Cancer treatments

Well, it might be possible. More and more research is showing that the inexpensive hormone melatonin is extremely effective at treating cancer. According to these studies, melatonin's cancer-fighting ability comes from its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. Armed with these abilities, it not only inhibits the growth of cancer cells, but can actually kill many different types of tumor cells. Vitamin E's Superstar Cousin: ? Lowers Total Cholesterol… ? Lowers "Bad" LDL...… ? Raises "Good" HDL...… ? Lowers Triglycerides...… ? And Actually Raises CoQ10...… What is this powerhouse heart health nutrient? Learn More One such study looked at melatonin's ability to treat brain cancer. The researchers combined melatonin with radiation for half of the participants. They gave the other half of the group radiation alone. After one year, all of the patients who used only radiation had died. But among those who took melatonin with the radiation, 23% were still alive. In a similar study in Italy, researchers looked at melatonin's ability to treat lung cancer all by itself. The researchers in this study followed patients who did not respond to chemotherapy treatment. They gave half of the patients melatonin and the other half a placebo. One year later, none of those taking the placebo were still alive. But 26% of those taking melatonin were still alive. Both of these studies suggest that melatonin raises your chances of surviving with cancer for one year by nearly 25%. Considering a high-dose melatonin treatment costs about $15 per month, there's little reason not to take the hormone if you have cancer. You can buy melatonin at any health food store, grocery store, drugstore, or online. Most studies use 10-40 mg daily to treat cancer. It's important you work with an integrative physician to know just how much you need to take to treat cancer.

Eating Healthy Foods

From the Radient Life newsletter:

Thanks to the work of Weston Price and the healthy, nonindustrialized peoples he studied, we can understand the importance of eating nutrient dense whole foods. Although these isolated traditional societies had an innate understanding of which foods to eat and how to prepare them in the most healthful ways, modern cultures have lost this instinct.

The Principles of Healthy Traditional Diets

1. The diets of healthy, nonindustrialized peoples contained no refined or denatured foods such as

* refined sugar or corn syrup * white flour * canned foods * pasteurized, homogenized, skim or low fat milk * refined or hydrogenated vegetable oils * synthetic vitamins * toxic additives and colorings 2. All traditional cultures consumed some sort of animal food such as

* fish or other seafood * land and water fowl * land and sea mammals * eggs * milk and milk products * reptiles * insects The whole animal was consumed- muscle meat, organs, bones and fat.

3. The diets of healthy, nonindustrialized peoples contained at least four times the minerals and water-soluble vitamins, and ten times the fat-soluble vitamins found in animal fat (vitamin A, vitamin D and Activator X) as the average American diet.

4. All traditional cultures cooked some of their food, but all consumed a portion of their animal food raw.

5. Primitive and traditional diets had a high food enzyme content from

* raw dairy products * raw meat and fish * raw honey * tropical fruits * cold-pressed oils * wine and unpasteurized beer * naturally preserved, lacto-fermented vegetables, fruits, beverages, dairy products, meats and condiments

6. Seeds, grains and nuts were soaked, sprouted, fermented or naturally leavened to neutralize naturally occurring anti-nutrients such as enzyme inhibitors, tannins and phytic acid.

7. Total fat content of traditional diets varied from 30% to 80% of calories, but only 4% of calories came from polyunsaturated oils naturally occurring in grains, legumes, nuts, fish, animal fats and vegetables. The balance of fat calories was in the form of saturated and monosaturated fatty acids.

8. Traditional diets contained nearly equal amounts of omega-6 and omaga-3 essential fatty acids.

9. All traditional diets contained some salt.

10. All traditional cultures made use of animal bones, usually in the form of gelatin-rich bone broths.

11. Traditional cultures made provisions for the health of future generations by providing special nutrient-rich animal foods for parents-to-be, pregnant women and growing children. Proper spacing of children, as well as teaching the principles of healthy diet to the young was included in these provisions.

The Weston A. Price Foundation has local chapters, which can help you find quality produce and pasture raised meats and dairy products in your community. We encourage you to become a member! The books and DVD below are excellent resources to learn more about nourishing traditional diets. Many thanks to Dr. Price, Sally Fallon and Mary Enig for their tireless efforts to promote these teachings.

Heart Issues/ cholesterol

Beyond that, many of my patients love red yeast rice (1,200 mg daily). I prefer Vinco's brand. A retired ophthalmologist I see as a patient came in a few days ago with stunning improvements in cholesterol and lipids. All he did differently was take the red yeast rice I recommended. Red yeast rice is a natural statin and doesn't typically have the same side effects as the synthetic drugs. However, many people take CoQ10 along with it just to make sure there aren't any problems with muscle weakness.

For splinters, clean the affected area with soap and water, dip the tweezers in alcohol to sterilize, use needle points of tweezer to grab the splinter and back it out gently. After particle is removed, disinfect area with hydrogen peroxide. If dirt is involved, consult doctor regarding tetanus. To remove ingrown hairs, wash area with soap and water, dip tweezer in alcohol to disinfect, and use tip of tweezer to isolate the ingrown hair. Most of the time, you don't have to take drugs to kill this bug. I've had a near 100% eradication rate of H. pylori without conventional antibiotics. In addition to probiotics, I recommend: * Digestive Enzymes — If you have symptoms of pain before or after meals, try a digestive enzyme product. It will help you digest your food faster. Take it at the beginning of each meal. Beano, available at most discount stores, is an easy place to start. * Deglycyrrhizinated licorice root extract (DGL) protects the digestive tract from corrosive stomach acids. It increases the number of mucus-secreting cells from glands in the upper portion of the stomach. Simply chew two 380 mg tablets three or four times daily between meals. * Aloe vera juice offers relief by healing the stomach lining, reducing stomach acid secretions and aiding in the prevention of internal bleeding. I like the whole leaf aloe juice products that have high mucopolysaccharide contents. Drink eight ounces a day. You can find aloe vera juice at any health food store. * Glutamine, an amino acid, speeds up the healing process by nourishing the cells that line the digestive tract. A teaspoon in water three to four times each day will speed the healing process. This treatment regimen will help keep H. pylori away and heal any ulcers. It works!

First Aid / Disaster preparedness - burn and cuts therapies

The most important thing you can do is to create an emergency kit so all the essentials you need are in one place. I’ve put mine in a waterproof duffel so it’s dry and ready to use at home—and I can grab it and take it with me should I need to evacuate in a hurry.

Some of the essentials you want to include in your kit are:

Several boxes of new, clean, white trash bags and chlorine bleach (a quart in an unbreakable container). If you know in advance that a crisis is looming, you can place the trash bags in buckets or trash cans and fill them with water. With a water supply that is essentially clear, you can add regular chlorine bleach to disinfect it—one teaspoon will treat five gallons, or 16 drops for one gallon.

A stash of non-perishable food, such as sardines and nutrition bars.

A hand-cranked emergency radio— along with flashlights and batteries, which can be used in the event of phone and/or power outages.

A standard first aid kit, with bandages, scissors, and antiseptic wipes, et cetera.

A water-proof, wind-proof emergency blanket—preferably one that’s designed to help reflect your body heat back to you should the heat go out. Plus, there are other survival secrets few people know about—but they could save you in an emergency. For burns, the pulp of the papaya fruit makes an excellent burn dressing. Just mash the pulp of the papaya and apply it directly to the burn.

Honey is also one of nature’s most miraculous dressings for open wounds and burns. Just apply approximately one ounce of honey on a 4-inch square dressing pad directly to the wound. Then, place a second, dry dressing on top of the first dressing and secure with adhesive tape.

To stop bleeding, even from a serious gash, there’s an excellent product called QR Powder, which is available at many mass-market retailers. (This is similar to a product I used to recommend called Bleed-X, but that company sells only to the military now.) Just sprinkle the contents of one packet (or more as needed) onto the injury and apply pressure.

I also recommend keeping a week’s worth of any essential medications and supplements on hand. Put all family documents—such as birth certificates and insurance information—in a portable waterproof container. Also create a list of cell phone numbers and other contacts you would need in case of an emergency.

And bromelain is also a good for preventing sickness. It boosts the activity of many different kinds of immune cells. This could be why extracts can fight problems as diverse as asthma and cancer tumors.
The bromelain you get from eating fresh pineapple can help with digestion. To help lessen inflammation, you’ll need to eat about a cup of fresh pineapple every day.
To get bromelain’s effects a little faster and more consistently, you can take a supplement. Bromelain is very bioactive, which means your body will absorb it well. But there are extracts that are stronger than others.
Bromelain potency is measured in GDU (Gelatin Digesting Units). Try to get a capsule that is at or near 2,400 GDU, the highest standardized potency you can get. I recommend you take 400-500mg a day. Or just eat pineapple like I do.

For example, rheumatoid arthritis is much harder to treat than osteoarthritis. We've done a study on that. Believe it or not, about halfway through the study when the results started kicking in… the people in the treatment group taking astaxanthin… were asking the researcher, "What is this?" A lot of them with rheumatoid arthritis had tried many different things and had not gotten results. With astaxanthin they were getting very good results. It just took about a month or so to kick in.

We've done studies on people with carpal tunnel syndrome—again, very good results. People with tennis elbow actually made their grip strength 93 percent stronger in eight weeks.

On the other hand, I have some great news. There is a plant estrogen (phytoestrogen) source that can significantly mitigate hot flashes, improve bone density and reduce breast cancer risk all in one. This plant is Pueraria Mirifica. You can order it from Longevity Research (800-580-7587) in a product called HRT (Herbal Remedy from Thailand). I suggest trying 100 mg daily.

Additionally, you could consider trying St. John's wort (300 mg daily) to alleviate hot flashes. A recent study showed a highly significant reduction in hot flashes with this herbal remedy after four to eight weeks. It also has phytoestrogens. You can find St. John's wort at any health food store.

Curaderm and SkinAnswer can still be purchased online.

I knew chemotherapy was toxic, so that part was no surprise. What stunned me was the power of resveratrol to destroy cancer. But since then, hundreds of studies have shown this was more than just a good story. Resveratrol really fights cancer. Now two new studies show that you can add other nutrients to resveratrol for even better cancer-fighting results.

In the first study, researchers from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio looked at the ability of certain fruit and vegetable compounds to prevent skin cancer. In addition to resveratrol, they added grape seed extract, D-glucarate (which detoxifies on a cellular level), calcium, and ellagic acid (a phenol in many berries and nuts) to their study. They found that all of these nutrients work together to protect against skin cancer.

Another study in Cancer Prevention Research looked at using these nutrients both orally and topically. The researchers found that the nutrients worked far better together than they did by themselves. Even when they used low doses, they had a dramatic effect. They concluded that the compounds each played a specific role in protecting the skin. These roles are so unique that one compound can't make up for the other nutrients when you take it alone.

This is true for all of those nutrients except resveratrol. As I mentioned earlier, resveratrol can fight cancer very effectively on its own. In fact, one study found that it reduced skin cancer tumors by up to 98%. But that's not all. Resveratrol is also a Cox inhibitor. That means it stops the spread of cancer.

Even if you buy a ginseng product that contains 90 percent ginsenosides, much less the standard four or five percent, it doesn't matter when it comes to treating cancer. The ginsenosides have to be broken down into their component parts, the AGS or R-family sapogenins have to be extracted, and this active ingredient has to be taken by the patient in large amounts. For best results it appears this natural "drug" should be administered intravenously. According to one estimate, it takes about 100 pounds of ginseng to make just one gram of AGS! So an AGS supplement is likely to cost a pretty penny. As I mentioned, the dammarene sapogenins extolled by Dr. Jia are derived from other plants and should be less expensive. One company producing a potent AGS product is Pegasus Pharmaceuticals Group, Inc. of Canada. They produce AGS in both liquid and soft gel formulas. Called Careseng, the product contains a combination of ginseng-derived AGS and dammarene sapogenins. Another AGS product, called Force C, is available at www.HealthSecretsUSA.com without a prescription. Force C was strongly recommended by the respected newsletter Health Science Institute some years ago

The Brandt grape cure is named for its chief proponent, Johanna Brandt. In 1928, this South African naturopathic doctor published The Grape Cure, a book with details about her supposed success in using this grape remedy. The book was updated and republished in 1989 as How to Conquer Cancer, Naturally.

Curcumin, and Reduloxin (also for inflammation)

Alternative prostate cancer cure:
In my experience working with Dr. Robert Rowen and Dr. Frank Shallenberger, it's become clear that the PSA test has two valuable uses. The first is for measuring inflammation. Dr. Rowen, editor of Second Opinion, says that while the PSA test is not directly related to cancer, it is a marker of inflammation.

"But inflammation is, in itself, a major problem." Rowen says. "Inflammation leads to organ damage. In the prostate, inflammation will lead to enlargement, urinary obstruction, and a host of male sexual difficulties. These can include erectile dysfunction, loss of libido, orgasmic difficulties, etc. And, inflammation is the root of cancer. Inflammation is synonymous with cellular damage. Constant ongoing damage can lead to degeneration and cancer."

So a higher PSA is definitely a concern. But the bigger concern is the rapid rise in your PSA. Dr. Shallenberger says in the upcoming December issue of Real Cures that you should get a PSA test every year. "This will let you plot out your PSA velocity. PSA velocity refers to how fast the PSA rises over time. If you see your velocity going up at a rate greater than 0.15 ng/ml over three consecutive years, you need to take action immediately." Your score has risen dramatically in just one year. While it doesn't necessarily diagnose cancer, it could. And it's clear your risk is very high. So you need to take immediate action.

The action both doctors recommend does not include conventional treatments. Dr. Shallenberger says alternative treatments can easily cure most cases of prostate cancer. You can get all the details on his website (subscribers to his newsletter have unlimited access to his archives). But here's what he recommends in a nutshell:

First, see a doctor who has found success treating prostate cancer with alternative therapies. You can find doctors at www.acam.org. If you have confirmed prostate cancer, two of the treatments they may use include Proton Beam Therapy and insulin potentiation therapy (IPT).

Proton Beam Therapy is similar to traditional radiation therapy with a big difference. Dr. Shallenberger says, "Traditional radiation therapy is like shooting with a shotgun. It destroys the cancer, but at the same time damages any healthy tissues and organs within close proximity. Conversely, with Proton Beam Therapy this isn't the case. Instead of hitting everything in its path, the beam can be calibrated to focus into one pinpointed beam and deliver maximum radiation to the tumor, often to within a fraction of a millimeter!

In fact, proton beam therapy is so accurate that it's used to treat tumors of the eye without damaging the optical nerves!" IPT, on the other hand, is essentially low-dose chemotherapy. IPT treats many different types of cancer. But prostate cancer responds especially well, particularly when you begin treatment in the early stages. You can find out more about both of these treatments on the aforementioned websites, and with a simple Google search of the Internet.

Organic foods

You can get some of the best grass-fed beef delivered to your home, ordered right from the Internet. There’s:

US Wellness Meats – One of the original grass-fed meat suppliers, and the one I use, with a unique way of raising cattle to have more CLA and omega-3 (www.grasslandbeef.com)

Alder Spring – This Idaho ranch sells only dry-aged, hand processed beef (www.alderspring.com)

Weatherbury Farm – This Pennsylvania farm also has grass-fed lamb (www.grassfed.weatherburyfarm.com)

Good Earth Farms – A family-owned Wisconsin farm uses only green compost, manure and minerals for fertilizer (www.goodearthfarms.com)

Wise Organic Pastures – Also in Pennsylvania, this farm’s beef is double-certified... organic grass-fed and certified kosher (www.wiseorganicpastures.com)

Crossroads Ranch – This California ranch mimics the animals’ natural setting and uses sustainable grass farming practices (www.bestbeefever.com) The good news is, these are only a few of the places you can get pasture-raised meat. New grass-fed ranches are springing up all over the country. And you don’t even have to stick to beef. Try buffalo, pork, venison, or other responsibly raised meat. You can find more resources at grasslandbeef.com, eatwild.com, and onlygrassfed.com.

1. If you do live in the South, you can easily grow your own fruit trees. I have a sour orange, a grapefruit and a lemon tree in my yard. If you’re going to grow an orange tree, keep in mind that it needs full sun all day, and moist but not wet soil to grow in. It’s good to keep a six-foot circle of mulch around your tree to help the soil stay moist, and use a dripper if you can when watering.

You can buy seeds and even baby trees online at:

Trade Winds Fruit: www.tradewindsfruit.com Gurney’s Seed and Nursery: www.gurneys.com Dave’s Garden (it’s a great resource): www.davesgarden.com 2. The best way to get fresh fruit may be to find a local grower who grows them organically, or gets them from another locally-owned organic farmer.

To find a grower or farmer’s market with fresh fruit near you, here are some online resources:

organicvalley.coop – This cooperative will help you find a farmer near you no matter where you live. Just go to the “Who’s Your Farmer” index and type in your zip code.

localharvest.org – Click on the “farms” tab and you can search for farmer’s markets near you for fresh oranges and juice.

pickyourown.org – Click on the “start here” link and they’ll help you find organic growers where you can harvest your own crop of fruit. Also, www.eco-farm.org has links to the different organic associations from various states. And www.organicconsumers.org has a drop-down list where you can choose your state and it will take you to a page full of information on local resources.
